My work considers the division of space and how these choices guide us around an object or through a room. I often draw inspiration from homes and cities I have lived in. I am not seeking an explicit narrative, but rather a hint of a place or the sense of a feeling. The specific content of my work often changes as I inhabit varied spaces, but ideas about relationships and personal rapprochement remain the backdrop for my objects and how I talk about them. My work is also driven by an investigation of material and firing process. I explore how varied texture, slips and glaze finishes interact next to each other to talk about relativity and relationship dynamics. Material qualities are often the starting point for my pots.
